Singular extremals in multi - input time - optimal problems : a sufficient condition

چکیده
Abstract: In this paper we study second order sufficient conditions for the strong-local optimality of singular Pontryagin extremals. In particular, we focus on the minimum-time problem for a control-affine system with vector inputs. We use Hamiltonian methods to prove that the coercivity of a suitably-defined second variation plus an involutivity assumption on the distribution of the controlled fields is a sufficient condition for the strong optimality of a candidate extremal.

Singular trajectories in multi-input time-optimal problems: Application to controlled mechanical systems
This paper addresses the time-optimal control problem for a class of control systems which includes controlled mechanical systems with possible dissipation terms. The Lie algebras associated with such mechanical systems enjoy certain special properties. These properties are explored and are used in conjunction with the Pontryagin maximum principle to determine the structure of singular extremal...
متن کاملQuadratic order conditions for bang-singular extremals
This paper deals with optimal control problems for systems affine in the control variable. We have nonnegativity constraints on the control, and finitely many equality and inequality constraints on the final state. First, we obtain second order necessary optimality conditions. Secondly, we get a second order sufficient condition for the scalar control case. The results use in an essential way t...
متن کاملGeometric aspects of the maximum principle in control theory
In a previous paper [1] we have proven a geometric formulation of the maximum principle for time dependent optimal control problems with fixed endpoint conditions. As a side result we obtained a necessary and sufficient condition for a control to be a (strictly) abnormal extremal. As an application of that result we consider in this paper two known examples of optimal control systems having abn...
متن کاملFeedback–invariant Optimal Control Theory and Differential Geometry, II. Jacobi Curves for Singular Extremals
This is the second article in the series opened by the paper [4]. Jacobi curves were defined, computed, and studied in that paper for regular extremals of smooth control systems. Here we do the same for singular extremals. The last section contains a feedback classification and normal forms of generic single–input affine in control systems on a 3-dimensional manifold.
متن کاملAutonomous Underwater Vehicles: Singular Extremals and Chattering
In this paper, we consider the time minimal problem for an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle. We investigate, on a simplified model, the existence of singular extremals and discuss their optimality status. Moreover, we prove that singular extremals corresponding to the angular acceleration are of order 2. We produce in this case a semicanonical form of our Hamiltonian system and we can conclude the...
